We in Eden live with and from nature

we think sustainably!

What does sustainability actually mean?

There is so much talk about it. Sustainability means that resources are used in such a way that they can regenerate in the long term to permanently meet our needs. the natural regenerative ability of the systems involved should be preserved, especially of living beings and ecosystems.

"What we do today determines what the world will look like tomorrow."
Marie von Ebner Eschenbach

Therefore Eden

It doesn`t always have to be "more, Higher, Further, better"! We are grateful for what we have. It is important to us to use all resources carefully and try to only take what is necessary. Our beautiful, diverse nature gives us food, health, leisure and relaxation. It is our deepest concern and also our duty to preserve this nature for future generations, "We did not inherit the earth from our parents, but rather borrowed it from our children," says an Indian saying that could not describe our responsibility more accurately.

The Hotel Eden:

Energy saving and efficiency are very important

Running a hotel requires a lot of energy. There are many ways to reduce this need without losing quality. For example, if you prevent heat from being lost to the outside. That´s why it was important to us to re-seal the ceiling in the restaurant and all the windows in the hotel. Modern roller shutters prevent valuable heat from escaping. We rely on effective heat recovery methods in order to act sustainably. This makes it possible to use the waste heat from our cold stores to heat other areas in our hotel where a lot of energy is required. The wellness area and the whirlpool are heated with it. We save electricity by preventing power peaks by installing a modern energy optimization system. The outdoor lighting is switched on automatically as dusk approaches so that electricity is not wasted on unnecessary lighting - this also applies to the restaurant, where the lights are switched off between meal times. We use LED throughout the hotel. This means there is enough electricity available for our e-charging station in our parking lot.

The rooms in Eden:

Ecologically valuable from furnishing to cleaning

Eden´s rooms are designed with natural materials such as local wood. Cleanliness is very important to us, but it is often the case that a room does not need cleaning. You can decide whether that is the case! Just like when you use up the towels, you can use them again if you want. In this way, we give our guests the opportunity to save resources with us. The room cleaning takes place with as little chemicals as possible. We use a Medicleantec micro dry steam cleaner and the laundry uses nature-friendly detergents. We would also like to mention that the showerheads are water-saving, because water is a particularly valuable resource.

The food in Eden:

Seasonal organic ingredients from our region

Why wander into the distance when the good is so close? This old wisdom is particularly useful in these times. We buy regionally - we get dairy products, fish and meat from Mayrhofen, and the bread is baked by the village baker in Tux. We have also received a "Bewusst Tirol" certification, which confirms our commitment to serving our guests local products. The herbs come from the Garden of Eden in summer, where the route is particularly short. By adjusting the meal sizes, we avoid unnecessary organic waste. Our guests can pack the snacks for hikes in their own snack boxes or paper bags. We avoid plastic straws and portioned packaging at the buffet. We carefully separate what waste we cannot avoid. Our waste fat is used to produce biodiesel. We take garbage that can be recycled to the local waste recycling center.

The Garden of Eden:

A paradise in the middle of local nature

The jewel of the Garden of Eden is the natural swimming pond, which is kept clean without any chemicals. Natural cleaning takes place via regeneration basins directly at the edge of the pond. The spacious, unobstructed garden is irrigated with collected rainwater. It was important to us to plant native plants to support the local flora, the diversity of which you can enjoy in the Garden of Eden.

Wellness in Eden:

Sustainability is not a contradiction here

Our saunas are heated in stages to avoid power peaks. This contributes to sustainable operations. We heat the wellness area and our whirlpool with the waste heat from our cold stores thanks to a modern heat recovery installation. We make sure that no usable energy is lost in the Hotel Eden, but can instead be used sensibly in another area. Especially in the wellness area, where a lot of energy is needed, we are setting a clear example of sustainability.
